Bere Regis 1: Ashdown Colts 1 Scorer: Jake Bere Regis win after aet and penalties

Bere Regis 2: Lytchett RT 4 Scorers: Jordan and Tom

The Under 8's team Cup run was halted at the quarter final stage, but not before one of the most exciting matches ever seen at the Rec. In the quarter final play offs Bere played Ashdown Colts, who they drew with in the group stages. Despite being one player down Ashdown had a keeper who was an absolute boy mountain and worth at least three players. Jake cracked a beauty past him in the first half, but in the second half and extra time Jake, Ollie, Jordan, Laurence all tried to get past him and failed. It went down to penalties and some miniature heroes: namely, Darren Morris and Tom Allen. Down to sudden death, Tom despatched a beauty into the top right corner. Darren Morris then nonchalantly patted the ball down from the next penalty and as it span back he disdainfully patted it away (some big words for you there kids, and adults!).

Unfortunately, Lytchett were just too strong for Bere in the quarter finals and despite an absolute thunderbolt from the halfway line by Jordan and a cool finish one on one with the keeper from Tom, Bere were out of the Cup.

Never mind, an excellent season from all of the young players and just watch them go in the Under 9's next year!!

Bere Dragons 1: Gillingham Town 14 Scorer: Jake

Okeford Utd 0: Bere Dragons 2 Scorers: Jake, Jordan

The kids of Bere have done us proud this season. A crowd of enthusiastic parents, grandparents and football lovers have seen them try their little hearts out all season. Ably led by Mark Miller and Luke White they have transformed into a neat little unit and only needed a bit of luck in games like the Magpies game to win a few more. Gillingham was a lesson in how to play football, but it was good to finish on a high with a win against the second in the league, with top scorer Jake and top defender Jordan both scoring. The team can go into the Cup with a little bit of hope, mainly hoping that Gillingham are not in their group!!

21st November 2004 Sherborne 1 v Bere Dragons 4

Good start from Bere Dragons, our very own little Michael Owen (Jake Maytum) scored an early goal which was equalized soon after by Sherborne. Jake Maytum scored another goal to make it 2-1. Bradley (safe hands) made a good save to keep Bere narrow lead. Then up pops Jake to score his hat-trick to make it 3-1 at half time.

Second half, Bere made a few chances straight away from kick off. Jake made it number 4. Not as many chances in the second half. Jordan Muscato had a long range shot with 1 of his thunder bolt shots, which hit the cross bar. Final score Sherborne 1 Bere Dragons 4.

Well played by the whole team.  Man of the match went to the great Jake Maytum.

Bere's mini soccer team is going great guns, led admirably by Marc Miller and Luke White. Under their knowing gaze, the team is transforming into quite a neat little outfit, their reward being a couple of good wins this month. All of the boys signed on have been getting a chance to play and the enthusiasm is a sight to see, especially with some of their goal celebrations (step forward Laurence Ball!). They all have their own little skills to show in the game: Jake's ferocious left foot; Ollie's fantastic dribbling; Bradley's brave goalkeeping; Harry's perfect passing; Darren's fierce tackling; great defending from the two Toms and Liam; great attacking from Laurence; and who can forget Jordan's amazing shooting, with several goals from his own half (move over Beckham there's a new kid in town). If you have nothing better to do on a Sunday morning then do come down and see these pocket dragons get all fired up, beats Playstation any day.

19 January 2005. Bere Dragons v Dorchester Magpies

Bere Regis F.C. Under 8's team games are played on a Sunday and are open to all children who were in School Years 2 and 3 in September 2004. If your child is interested then please bring them down to our junior football sessions on Saturday mornings at Bere Regis Recreation Ground between 10.30 and 12.00 at the bargain price of just £1 a session.

The club has qualified coaches, insurance for the children and, most of all; the children seem to enjoy it. The sessions are open to children ranging from school reception to Year 5, although it is only in the Under 8's range that we are starting a team. We look forward to seeing you there.
